Ask a good question
- Name the player
Full names always work; unique short names do too — Giannis, Jokic, Wembanyama — and so do the household nicknames: the Greek Freak, Wemby, Chef Curry, the Joker. You can compare two players in one question.
- Name the stat (or don't)
Points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, threes, turnovers, FG% and FT%, minutes, games — or skip the stat and get the full line. Ask for a player's fantasy ranking or value and you get his per-season rank on our G-score board instead — including under a punt lens ("his rank if I punt FT%") or split across all nine categories ("his category values").
- Pick a window
Career, the last N seasons, or a specific season like 2024-25. Say 'totals' for season totals instead of per-game averages. No window means career — and careers go deep: our data covers 30 seasons, back to 1996-97, so Kobe's whole run is in there.
- Read the answer
The headline sentence is the answer; the table below splits it by season with an Average or Total row. The board link next to the player's name jumps to his rank and full projection.
What it won't do (yet)
Game logs, league-wide leaders, live scores, and pre-1997 history are out of scope for now — the engine says so honestly instead of guessing. For the forward-looking version of every player, that's the projections board; for who gained and lost minutes this summer, that's NBA moves / signings.
- Phrasing doesn't need to be exact — “how many boards did Jokic grab last year” works. If the engine can't read a question it offers examples that will.
