The projections.

Our 2026-27 fantasy basketball rankings, built from full projections. Each player's projected stat line, their per-category value, and a one-line view. Rank by G-score (our default) or Z-score with the toggle; tap any name for the projection drivers.

Our view on this board

Read this before you read the ranks.

Two numbers do the work below. The rank is per-game — what a player is on the nights he plays. Draft value bakes in the games we expect him to play. Set your draft order by draft value, then judge trades and weekly matchups by the rank.

  • Games played decide leagues. We read every injury-shortened season by its mechanism, not its total — a clean surgery comes back, a chronic knee doesn't. It's why Mark Williams banks 22 games and Curry 50.
  • An arrival squeezes the bench, not the stars. A decade of departures says minutes at the top of a rotation are sticky — so LeBron cost Philadelphia's fringe, not Embiid.
  • The edge is rounds 3 through 9, where role changes and availability are mispriced. The top of the board is boring on purpose.
What moved this board, and where we disagree with the market →

Half the league's usage changed hands this summer — Giannis to Miami, Ja to Portland, Philadelphia collecting other teams' alphas in Jaylen Brown and then LeBron — and the last open question closed on September 14, when the league finally processed Kawhi Leonard to Toronto. When a 30-minute anchor leaves town his shots don't vanish, they get absorbed; we studied a decade of departures to learn who actually inherits them, and priced that in.

The mid-September pass was mostly about the injury pages, and it moved more than the transaction wire did: Mark Williams (shoulder, out to about February), Shaedon Sharpe (meniscus) and Moses Moody (patellar tendon) were all still carrying full-season games totals for injuries the data cannot see. The comeback class read the other way — Haliburton, Kyrie, Sabonis and Dejounte Murray are all reported ready for camp, which is what we had already banked.

Against the live market we are higher on Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware and Immanuel Quickley, role changes still being priced off last year's box scores, and colder on Jaylen Brown, LeBron and Trae Young — two of them arrived into crowded rooms, and one is drafted like a category monster when the profile is points and assists. Camps open September 29 and this page updates as the news lands.
