Who are we?

Hi. We're Stocks & Buckets, and we're the people in your league who take a meaningless Tuesday-night box score far too seriously. We mean that as a compliment — to us, and to you.

If you've ever stayed up to see whether your guy got the eighth rebound, refreshed the waiver wire at 2am, or talked yourself into a trade you'll be defending in the group chat for years — you're already one of us. This is a home for people who love hoops and the fantasy version that makes every game matter.

How we got here

It started, like it does for most of us, with a love of the game — the buzzer-beaters, the GOAT debates, that ridiculous rush when your team wins it all. Fantasy came later and took over fast. Suddenly a nothing game between two lottery teams mattered, because someone on our roster needed boards and steals.

The part that really hooked us was the numbers. There's something we genuinely love about a box score: a whole night of basketball turned into stats you can argue with. So we went deeper than gut feel — and built an engine to do it properly.

What we actually do

Most fantasy rankings are a list. You scroll, you nod, you draft. What you rarely get is a real point of view — a read on each player that's genuinely our own, with the analysis to stand behind it.

That's what we bring. Every number on this site comes from our own projection engine. We forecast each player's season and price every category by how scarce and separating it really is — and then we do the part we love most: we go hunting for the players the market has mispriced.

We treat every player like a stock — and the edge is in the ones the market has wrong.

Think of the consensus as the going price. Most of the time it's roughly fair; sometimes it's badly off — a breakout it hasn't woken up to, a name it's overpaying on reputation. Our edge is a view of our own, built on data and analysis, that spots the gap early — while there's still value in it.

Why you can trust us

Because it isn't vibes. Every view is pressure-tested against years of real stats, game logs, and results — and before any method ships, we run it back across past seasons to check it would have actually helped you, not just looked clever. Plenty of ideas we liked didn't survive that test. We cut them.

We also stack our numbers against the most respected tools in the business. They line up — and then we go a step further by giving you a view you can act on, in time, before your lineup locks.

And when a call burns us? We'll own it. Being honest about the misses is how we earn your trust on the wins.

What's here right now

You can already dig into our player projections — and they're never frozen. As new information comes in (minutes, roles, injuries, hot and cold streaks), the numbers move with it.
