What the stat line does
The Stat Line is a daily guessing gauntlet for people who know ball by the numbers. Every day there are ten mystery players — the same ten for everyone on Earth — climbing from a superstar anyone can name to a round-10 deep cut that ends almost every run. Your clue for each: his best real statistical season.
The first four rounds are multiple choice with deliberately similar decoys; from round five you type the name, with Wordle-style feedback on every miss and a fresh clue each time. Five lives for the whole run, and every wrong guess costs one — you stay on each player until you name him or the run ends. Then you post the card and dare the group chat to go deeper.
How it works
- Round 1 opens with a superstar's stat line and four names — the decoys are players just like him, so read carefully.
- From round 5 you type the name: every miss shows how warm you are on team, position, era, height and scoring — with arrows toward the answer — and you stay on him until you get him.
- Each miss also unlocks a new clue: career shape, profile, franchise. Five lives for the run, one per wrong guess anywhere — spend them well.
- When the run ends, share your card — your score, your round strip, and the day's opening clue as a dare. New Gauntlet at midnight UTC.

No. The game is free and anonymous; your streak lives in your browser.

The same database that powers the rest of the site — 30 seasons of NBA stats and 736K game logs, the foundation of our fantasy projections. Every clue is a real line from a real season.
How hard is it?
The early rounds are superstars; round 10 is a deep cut that ends most runs. Everyone clears a few — finishing all ten with lives to spare is genuinely rare, and that's the point.
