Reading the projections board

The board is the heart of the site: every projected player, ranked by 9-cat value, with a written view behind the numbers. This guide walks the columns, the toggles, and the one idea that makes the board different — a per-game rank and a draft-day value, side by side.

Get to the full board

  1. Open the projections

Head to the Projections page. Everyone sees the public top 20 with the full stat line and our view on each player.

  2. Create a free account for the rest

The full board — every projected player, sortable on one screen — is free with an account. Sign up and the board loads in place.

  3. Connect your league to change the math

Connect a Yahoo, ESPN, or Fantrax league on your account page and the board re-values everything for YOUR settings — league size, categories or points, roster shape. Until then you see the public default: 12-team, 9-cat, per-game.

  4. Pick your lens

Use the G-score / Z-score toggle to switch valuation methods (G-score is our default — it weights categories by how they actually swing weekly matchups). Members also get per-game vs projected season Total, and punt chips to re-rank the board for any punt build.

  5. Tap any player for the why

Every row expands: a category-by-category value breakdown (green bars help you, red bars cost you), the projection drivers — minutes, expected games, draft value, confidence — and our written view.

The two numbers that matter most

Value is per-game: what a player is on the nights he plays. Draft is draft-day value — per-game value × the share of games we expect him to play. A returning star can be a top-12 talent and a round-3 pick at the same time; the gap between his two numbers is the decision. Set your draft order by Draft, judge trades and weekly matchups by Value.

GP is our expected games on an 82-game pace — an availability model plus analyst judgment — not last season's total. When our games number disagrees with the market's memory, the reasoning is in that player's view line.

The rest of the columns

P-Val is a player's best-8 value — his total with his single worst category dropped. One-dimensional players jump; well-rounded players barely move. It's the quickest read on who benefits from a punt build. View carries the badges (rookie, breakout, regression, high volatility), and a Ret tag marks a returner — a player who missed all of last season, projected with an injury-class haircut. The stat columns are his projected per-game line; the colored per-category cells show where the value comes from — greener adds more, redder costs more.

One column you won't find yet: ADP. There's no real 2026-27 market until mock drafts open in late August / early September — we'll put the market's price next to our rank (and flag the steals) the moment it exists.

Pro tips
  • Punt chips are an exploration lens — they re-rank the board live so you can see who gains, and they stay on the board (your other tools keep using your league's real settings).
  • Use the search box to find any player instantly — search overrides the "Top players only" cap, so nobody hides.
  • In-season, a horizon switch appears: value the board for the full season, rest-of-season, this week, or tonight.
