Ignore his worst category (rebounds) and he's worth -0.63.
A Nugget, finally - one year at the minimum, official September 8, after two months on the market following the July 6 Sacramento waiver. Denver said the quiet part out loud: he comes off the bench, after starting 1,252 of his 1,264 career games. But read the depth chart before you read the label: the two wings ahead of him are Aaron Gordon and Cameron Johnson, whom we project for 44 and 55 games, so DeRozan is the next man up for something like 35 to 40 spot starts, and the beat already has him leading the bench scoring and closing games. That is a 27-minute season, and the production follows the minutes rather than the label: he was 18.4 and 4.1 assists on 31 minutes last year at 36, and our line simply scales the same per-minute player to the new role - about 15.5 points, 2.7 boards and 3.4 assists on the same .49 from the field and .87 from the stripe. What makes him a category piece is unchanged: midrange efficiency and elite free-throw volume with almost no turnovers. What he does not give you is also unchanged: no threes, no blocks. At 37 on a title team that will rest him, he is a points-and-FT% specialist who fits a punt-threes build cleanly and streams for everyone else.
DeMar DeRozan enters 2026-27 at #143 on our board — Round 12 value in a standard 12-team draft, projected for 15.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 27.0 minutes a night. The value is built on turnovers and free-throw percentage, with rebounds the soft spot in the profile. He's a natural fit for punt-rebounds builds — take that category out of the equation and his value climbs. Availability helps the case: we project about 63 games.
